On Thursday the handsome new steam trawler "Dinas" made her maiden voyage, which, however, was not very large, fetching £217.  The skipper is Mr. Tom Salter, who, when in charge of the ill-fated "Manaos", performed such a deed of valour in securing the safety of the crew.

The "Dinas" has been built at the yard of Smith Docks Trust, South Shields, for Messrs. Hancock and Harries.

From the Haverfordwest & Milford Haven Telegraph of Wednesday 23rd August 1911:

The steam trawler "Dinas" (Messrs. Hancock and Harries) which, with others, left Milford Haven on Friday for the South Coast was, according to the London papers, stranded on Sunday afternoon on the Shingles Bank, between the Needles and Totland Bay.  Mr. T. G. Hancock was himself aboard.  A wire was received later at Milford haven that the vessel had got off under her own power without any assistance, and sustaining no damage.  She then proceeded to Portsmouth, where she arrived safely.

From the Haverfordwest & Milford Haven Telegraph of Wednesday 15th January 1913:

The steam trawler Dinas (Hancock and Harries) put back to port early on Thursday morning with the second engineer, Mr. James Jones, somewhat seriously injured. Whilst on the fishing grounds 270 miles away, Mr. Jones was handling a fire bar which fell on the lower part of his abdomen inflicting such serious injuries that the skipper immediately returned to Milford.  On arrival the injured man was conveyed home to Hubberston suffering acutely.
