On proceeding to sea the vessel struck the Bar at the entrance to River Liffey.  Heavy sea and insufficient watch on Bar.  Vessel not making any water, but will be examined when next in Dry Dock.

LOCAL LAW CASES

 

OWNERS, MASTER, AND CREW OF THE SEA EAGLE v. OWNERS OF THE BUTTERFLY, HER CARGO, AND FREIGHT

 

    On Wednesday, in the Admiralty Division, Mr. Justice Barnes, sitting with Trinity Masters, disposed with this claim for remuneration in respect of salvage services rendered by the steam trawler Sea Eagle, of Milford, to the steam trawler Butterfly, of Hull, in the North Sea, between the 18th and 21st February last. ― His Lordship awarded plaintiffs £1,500 in this proportion: £1,200 for the owners of the Sea Eagle, £100 to her master, and £200 to her crew, with costs. ― Judgement accordingly.
