Damaged one plate, port bow, when proceeding out to sea. Passing the Belfast boat's berth, our wheel chain jammed. I rung her to stop. The tug "Fylde" was laid alongside of the pier and in going to make fast of her she came astern without any warning. Before we could get astern we collided.
