 Accidents and Incidents:

From the West Wales Guardian of Friday 21st June 1985:

A trawler registered at Milford Haven was under guard in a French port yesterday after being arrested for illegal fishing.  Maritime officials said a French Navy patrol vessel escorted the Akalanda into the port of Arcachon near Bordeaux yesterday after an inspection revealed nets which did not conform to EEC regulations, and a catch of fish normally forbidden to British-registered trawlers.  They said the catch from the trawler had been confiscated and that the captain, who was not identified, would appear in court in October.

The Akalanda, with a Spanish crew, was fishing in European Community waters when it was detained
